Old packjobs
Going back to the old discussion... On Friday at ITW i've jumped Trango/Hybrid L/D packed 2 years and 1 month ago. Worked like a charm, no difference noted on a wingsuit opening (Prodigy 2). I did repack a pilot chute, though. Just FYI ;-)

bsbd!

Yuri.

Re: [outrager] Old packjobs
I lnow you mentioned it, BUT: ALWAYS REPACK YOUR PILOT CHUTE. it takes nothin in time, but could save YOUR life. I saw a 2 year old pc pack job look more like a brick than anything else for a couple throws to see what it would do. nada

Seems kind of lazy.Really how long does it take you to pack, especially for terminal. Can't be longer than 30mins.I would repack it for sure. That's just me though.

Re: [outrager] Old packjobs
If I havent jumped for afew weeks ill still repack mine.

In skydiving a reserve can be left for upto a year in some countries before a repack is due. But they (should be) always packed in perfect indoor condisions, and rarely get damp...

We pack our BASE rigs in all kind of places... if you pack even a slightly damp canopy, with in a couple of days it could easily become sticky... that extra second or two it could take to open, could cost you BIG time!! (espically if its cold out)...

Taking 30mins to repack your rig could save your ass!

Re: [freefall80] Old packjobs
i've repacked several times just to get the gear-fear out of my head. especially on low shit, feels better to have just packed up nice, no worries, trying to remember the last time you packed.

worst gear fear i ever had was last year at bridge day, first jump on new rig (11th base jump, previous were rental gear), assembled by myself, i had never even assembled a skydiving rig before - put the canopy on backwards 2x before figuring out the 3-rings were reversed.
