Bridge Day Lodging
Hey Guys,

Anyone have an extra slot in their cabin, motor-home, or tent?
I have and am bringing an air mattress, pillow, and blankets.

Currently do not own a tent... I want to make one, in green
of course, that will go in the bed of my truck but won't have
time between now and then. Priced the pre-made kind on
some truck-toys websites and they are stupid expensive.

So I can either chip in on your deal or just buy a cheap tent.
In any event, I am getting excited about the event and the
party scene with everyone camping at the new venue!!

Peace,
~Tom

Tom,
Troy has many extra bunks in his cabin. Give him a call (or PM me for his contact) and I am sure he'll let you crash with them.

Hey Jake, it's my first time in a Cabin... do we need to bring Bedding with us?

Hey as far as I know. Yes. We've been told to bring sleeping bags or the equivelent. The cabins are not heated.

Jake-

Fair warning for figuring space in the cabins, the bunks are built in and are probably best though of as 3 bunk beds, each bed being about twice as wide as a normal bunk bed. They are built in a "U" Shape around three walls. (Maybe U-shaped plywood people shelves is a better description.)

Just saying if you are figuring on putting 12 people in a cabin, you better not mind spooning with the person you are sharing a bed with. I've been in a cabin that had 8 people and a little gear in it before, and that was about as tight as I think would be comfortable.

Still, it beats the hell out of a tent.

I am bringing bedding and hope to crash
on the floor of Troy's, Kevin's, or someone
else's cabin but worse comes to worse I can
always sleep in my truck.

Re: [baseknut] Bridge Day Lodging
Not trying be negative, but the really is almost no floor space other than where the door opens and maybe a 4x4 foot space behind it and a 4x4 foot space in the U of the bunks. There is no furniture. There is one overheald bulb. There is one outlet.
Really, imagine a walk in closet with 4x8 sheets of plywood used to make shelves around three walls.

6 people is fine, you even have a little room in your bed for gear that way. Even more fit if they are couples that don't mind sleeping closely with each other. I just don't want you thinking that it sleeps 12, which is what we thought the first time we rented one.

Again, I have stayed in these every year since they built them and they are a nice improvement over the tents and I am happy as hell to stay in them every year. Not trying to be negative, I just remember my reaction the first time that we opened the door.

Re: [Scubadivemaster] Bridge Day Lodging
just curious...
how about the bathrooms?

I've been to enough boogies with limited facilities. Long lines, running out of hot water, and other challenges seem to pop up. Jason's warning about the HI running low on hot water also springs to mind.

thoughts?

thanks!

Re: [wwarped] Bridge Day Lodging
The bath house is large and clean. I'm guessing maybe 8 showers and 5 or 6 sinks. The hot water has held up during the rafting season when we have been there, though the rafting groups are staggered so that everyone isn't typically using the facilities at the same time.

Toilets have stalls, doors, etc. All modern and clean. No idea what the women's side is like, but I assume it is similar.

There is also a bathroom near one set of cabins but it is a bit more primative. A one seater with no stall and a sink is about all there is to it.

My gf is sick so I have an xtra bed in twoply's cabin at millcreek cabins. $135 for 3 nights.

I don't know. When you say she is sick, do you mean I can expect her to spank me or really hurt me?
Wink

Or do you mean she isn't going to be there, so you need a fill in? That's not really my speed.

Awesome, thank you very much!!

When I checked the WX and saw
a low of 34 Saturday night all I
could think was sleeping drunk
in my truck might be a bad idea.

It's a long stretch but what is the chance RE has a wifi connection? I am leaving for the weekend in 2.5 hours and I just got another project dumped on me.

1. Google "river expeditions west virginia"
2. Select appropriate site
3. Find "contact us" link
4. Call phone number
5. Ask if they have wi-fi
6. Explain what wi-fi is to the inbred toothless chick who answered the phone.

Seriously, I suspect they do in the main building.

Yes, of course. God knows there aren't any of those around your parts in Kentucky.
