I was just wondering how cheap is too cheap when purchasing a used rig? I have $1200 saved up to spend on skydiving. Should i spend the money on student jumps using rental gear? or should I buy a cheap used rig and pay less to jump?

you won't be able to do student jumps with that rig. And you also need an AAD at least until you are not a student - but some DZs require them for all jumpers.

that gear is overpriced.

for $1200 you should be able to get a nice older set with a ZP main like an older Sabre. the topic has been discussed many times over on dz.com - do a search and ask questions based on what you find out...

Don't really think that matters. I can't afford a new parachute either. I put new lines on a 3000 jump canopy rather than spend 1500 plus.

Most BASE jumpers are Cheap cunts in my experience. Well, at least cunts.
