 The vid makes it sound like they're fine other than some contusions to their ego and a bitter lesson in canopy control. Perhaps more practice/learning time at a legal object might've prevented this burning.

Hey the whiney little girl actually say's a lot in the interview. If I hear the video right, Like she saw all just standing & waiting for her school bus across the road ?. So you got to ask yourself, was 6:30 AM enough daylight to see ? But Maybe the jumper is an experienced canopy pilot and like He/She had massive live twists or a line-over or other problem ? Or the tower compound and the grounds around might have been micro small with just a postage stamp size LZ ?

The frame at 1:34 clearly shows a framegrab from splatula, where the standard warning on top of the page states :

those towers out in suffolk are juicy. no postage stamp LZs. big, well lit fields at any time of day.

I'm no expert on copyright, but I'm pretty sure that wouldn't be an infringement of splatula's copyright. Generally speaking, in the USA the use of excerpts from copyrighted material is protected under the fair use doctrine. So even if you put a statement on your website saying "this website is copyrighted, all rights reserved", small portions of that website can still be used legally in derivative works.

This article also says that they "cut through barbed wire" which I doubt is true.

Actually, since I was the one who originally wrote that paragraph it's Spatula who hijacked it in the first place. And it's my copyright. But he and I worked that all out in the end. And it is, after all, all in the family . . .

And yes, fair use, says you can use snippets of anything that's copyrighted.
