Eikesdal- a little warning
I have probably been unlucky, but I have visited the Eikesdal valley (to the east of Romsdal) 4 times in 10 years, and for the second time, despite taking precautions, an Eikesdal tick has given me a Borrelia infection (Lyme disease).
For those unfamiliia with Borrelia, it can be very unpleasant and difficult to get rid of. The ticks are normally in the undergrowth beneath the trees, rather then on top of the mountain. If you do get an infected tick bite, a rash normally develops about 10 days later and you will start feeling strange. Do not delay seeing your doctor and getting the right anti-biotics. It is only likely to become a real problem if you delay this treatment. John Halford

Re: [Wallis] Eikesdal- a little warning
DOXYCYCLINE! Its amazing!!! Hope you get well soon bro, we have mad ticks out here in VA and ive had to pull a few of them off from time to time myself, luckily the Lyme titer has been negative. The titer may not show pos results until up to 6 weeks after inoculation, confirmatory western blot test is performed after a pos titer. Then you are placed on antibiotics for extended period of time.

Re: [DAVE858] Eikesdal- a little warning
I had boleria and did not know about it, complete loss of apetite after around 5 weeks, problems with memory, always tired and just felt weird...
Even now, over 1 year later I still did not regain my apetite to 100 procent, lost alot of weight and have worse memory than before...
so be carefull, those small fuckers can cause many problems...

Re: [Lukasz_Se] Eikesdal- a little warning
My coworker was bitten by an unusual tick in Wyoming, USA several years and he didn't seek medical attention for some aches and pains that followed. Now 10 years later, the disease has infiltrated his whole body and he has incredibly bad health problems. They are trying to overdose him on antibiotics but at this point, it's essentially undefeatable. He said he could have beat the disease if he had taken proper antibiotics much earlier.
