So I was out bustin some jumps today when I accidentally let go of my right hand gripper, maybe it had slipped out of my grip or whatever. I tried and tried to regain control of it when I realized all I was grabbing was a handful of wing. The gripper was missing.
When I opened that I checked it out and the threading had come undone at the end of the gripper pouch and it obviously fell out.
So does anyone know what I can put in it to fix it. I was thinking about maybe a wooden dowel from Home Depot, or some sort of a plastic stick like a piece of Hot Glue. Any Suggestions?

open the otherside and remove it to get a better idea as to what would work best.

perhaps replacing them both at the same time is a better option, to keep a match, or just call the manufacturer, and id bet theyll just send you one.

phantom 1 it is. i guess i can open the other side if i have a sewing machine or rigger nearby ehh!

I think it is apiece of plastic tubing in that suit, pick it up at the hardware store.
and don't pull on the gripper so hard;-)

I have a phantom 1, I sent back in this may to get some general repairs; new booties, seem fixed and gripper.... It's my oldest suit and needed some TLC.....

Rob (RIP) called me up and said he didn't have anything readily available to fix the broken gripper with, and asked if I cared if he just re-sewed the grip without the tube/wood/whatever it is in it.

The other option was for him to go hunt for something (i.e home depot) and fix it, it would just take a little longer.

I said it didn't matter, and got it back quick.... I've based it and skydived it since and I can't notice a difference without one gripper.... It's a small suit, the gripper isn't that critical compared to a Vampire, Stealth, etc....

Sew it up and get in the air.

Go and buy some Teflon spoons from walmart and cut off the handle. They work really good. Just the right diameter

Sadly, I finally am getting around to fixing this. So I got a spoon and I found a buddy that has a GF that has a Sewing Maching. Does she need any special thread to fix this handle or will plain old thread work fine?

If it does need some special thread, can someone send me about 2 yards of it, or a roll or whatever. I Wanna go flying.......

You know this whole concept with stores and buying stuff?
Try it...it rocks

Use 100% nylon thread, usually marked as upholstery thread in local stores and sometimes has purple on the label to identify it. Nylon thread is much stronger than cotton thread and will hold up better. Pull test it to the break point in the store to see.

PM your address and I can send you some E thread too, which is stronger once more.
