exiting framed powered parachute.
Does anyone have a recommendation of how to exit a powered parachute with a triangle frame and tandem seating config. I reckon I can just kind of roll off however the pilot of this thing is new and we would prefer not to get him too unstable even tho our first goes will be as high as we can get.

i'd just roll over, and not push on exit... strictly from a physics standpoint

Just roll over the front. All good. Pilot will have no worries.

I have been pilot and jumper from ppw. I would put both feet up on the seat, have the pilot put his elbow on the frame and hold it. Step off using the frame just above the elbow. Do not push hard, do it from higher altitude before you start getting dirty low. The pilot will feel like he hit some mild turbulence, that's all.

Ive got many jumps out of one of these. Our pilot grabs the steering line and holds it tight to the frame. then I stand up on the back seat and put my foot on the rail with the steering line. Ant out I go. pilot has had no issues. I like it with the engine off. plus she gets down faster and uses less fuel.
Godspeed!

Thanks for the help. Made 10 today. What worked best for me was just sort of flopping out. It was more fun than I thought it would be.

I have a powered parachute and it's quite easy to have a jumper exit. Depending on the frame design. I've flown @ 150 loads and all we did is put a little grip tape on the diagonal frame bar and have jumper push to the 2 o'clock or 10 o'clock position. A slight swing is all the pilot will feel with a moderate push. Pilot may have to hold the control lines close to the frame to prevent "foot snagging". Have fun, we sure do!

I used to be a rigger for Powrachute brand PPC's, as the rigger I got to jump from these many times.
We did a demo jump and the FAA was there and made us have an N numbered craft and the piolt had to be a comerical pilot since he and I where both getting paid for the event. at that time the FAA stance was that at a min sport pilot is needed to fly these now and that makes them an aircraft.
I would only guess that if you own a PPC and you are allowing a jumper to exit the thing then you had better have a notam on file and the jumper should be wearing tso'd rig!
Thinking that PPC's are immune to fed's eyes is silly and to prove this when i was working for powrachute we where contacted often about pilots who where doing stuff like landing in parking lots, flying over towns and populated areas and even letting jumpers out.. use caution kids.. the man has a way of cacthing up with you.
