In reply to:
It's with great regret that I pass on information that I've received here in Kjerag. Aparently there has been a Brit fatality at Romsdalen. Mike, a South African Capt in the British Army, was killed in a wingsuiting accident.

I don't have any further confirmed information, and don't wish to pass his surname in case his NOK in SA have not been notified via the appropriate channels.

Nice to have known you mate,

Kenny.

Fly free....:-(

Re: [thecount] Fatality in roomsdalen
Im sorry to hear you where one of his friends.

I am also sorry most jumpers do not take advices, or try to search up information about the different types of objects, weather conditions, technical skills needed, so on, so on. Bispen is for experienced wingsuit flyers, and is not forgiving if you choose to fly the line close to the road. I have information he was not a experienced wing suit flyer. Sorry to be a bit on the target here, but this is a incident forum, and I feel again I need to express my concerns about getting the information out there.

Romsdalen is for those who have great experience with mountain hiking, and big wall jumping experience.

Feel sorry for his family and friends.

I would really like to know the details. What actually happened? Was this an object strike in flight?
if so, was it near the road? Was there media (hope not) present?

Re: [mickknutson] Fatality in roomsdalen
Not full speed impact
No reported witnesses except those two who jumped with him. They saw him a bit lower, and not in a efficient flight. He got canopy opening, but after that he must had a cliff strike under canopy, and came to rest at a shelf. Again I have no witnesses who actually saw the whole accident.
