Sub terminal Slider Up
I have a Dagger 244 and plan on taking a 4 sec slider up delay with a 42 non vented zp. WL is around .63 Any suggestions for a clean on heading opening would be appricated. Thanks

A B with very few outs. I have many slider down jumps on it.

he probably wants to go slider up to avoid making excessive noise. dont worry, those off heading gremlins wont get u Cool propack or trash pack i say.

4 sec slider up, sounds fine to me. stay square and level as always.

Putting your slider on increases your chance of an off heading

I fail to see the benefit of a slider up in this situation, unless the LZ is directly below the Exit and opening alt is very low.

just be a man and take 5 seconds....that way even if you get an off heading you wont have time to fly into the object Cool

I am fan of slider up short delays. gives you time to fix the heading/steer the opening, go for toggles as soon as you are aware your under the sniveling parachute. be easy with it though. I have on several occasions fixed 180s before the slider is down.

I would recommend a blackjack or vented parachute though.

roll the nose but keep the center cell of the nose exposed. that's how i get on heading openings slider up.

short-delay sliderups are kind of weird.

some people are deathly afraid of them, others use them as the tool that they are. (im inthe second group)

that being said, ive probably only done 30 or so..

like matt said, you can influence opening heading at linestretch, and i personally have the brakes cleared before 100percent inflation most of the time.

however, there are documented cases of short-sliderups causing fatalities.. ( i believe he was packed for full terminal however...)

my personal setup, for a 3-5second sliderup setup -nose loosely rolled in, with the center cell wrapped around the entire pj (lika a slider off), no slider-bight-rubber band (indirect control?) , primary stow,slider at the stops and a 42inch pc.

dont underdelay, and be ready for inflation.

know your reasoning for this type of setup, and weigh that against the risks. try it out on at the perrine or nrg if you can beforehand.

I dont have the numbers of jumps done from Petronas 3000 - 4000 around 4 seconds delay? It is the most intense jumps I have done.

How many building strikes have it been during that time? I know of 1.
