Burning your own object.
Thoughts on burning your local object before someone "NOT" local comes in and burns it.

Would you? Have you?

Re: [gauleyguide] Burning your own object.
If you opened it, you can do as you wish according to "old school". But to burn it out of spite seems wrong to me. Why would one do this? Was it a specific "not local"?
or just "I jumped it and I don't want anyone else to jump it ever".
If it is the latter, I would suggest you delete your post. I will if you will.

Re: [gauleyguide] Burning your own object.
We haven't done it but we've actually talked about this quite a bit... Not burning regularly jumped or cool objects, but just picking one of myriad of random generic cell towers that are all over and dayblazing it with no concerns as to whether it gets hot or not.

If it gets burned, who cares, it's not being jumped anyways. It would kind of like be the Bic lighter of towers, use it then throw it away, a disposable object.

Burning something that is a really cool jump, regularly jumped, has easy access or whatever; now that's just bad form.

This is more or less a hypothetical question, however, if one spends the time and puts in the effort, and some more time to jump this and not get busted or burned, this object has a high bust AND high burn potential, if done correctly, neither will happen.

The not local part is directed towards, well, not a local.

As far as I know this gigantic beauty has never been jumped. I and another jumper have been seeking a way to jump this without the bust or burn, it can be done.

Enter "non-local", passing thru, wants to day blaze it, maybe there will be no bust, but it will for sure burn to the ground.

BASE jumping is in the hearts and minds of the local population, surrounded by myth and mystery. My local area is as far from the opposite end of the specrum compared to a town like TF, where the local population is exposed to BASE jumping on a daily bases.

I like my town quiet and peacefull, no one here, other than a few skydivers, friends and family know BASE jumping goes on here, not the police, and not the press.

So, hypothetically speaking, what would you do if you knew a non-local was planning to jump it, and telling him not to blaze it is pointless, cause he's going to jump it anyway, cause he is not from here.

Thanks

Re: [gauleyguide] Burning your own object.
I opened a building last year with some friends, made some fun jumps. Jumped it 5 times or so... gave 2 people their B's off it.

I decided it was time to get day time footage as the top floors were closed and went from 17th floor. It was around 8pm.

It was burned hard when news reporters got hold of the story but i OK'd it with the whole crew before i done it.

I think that means no one can say shit to me.

Edit: lesson learned, youtube is not something friends go to only. I had to delete that fast to avoid getting busted.

I always cringe when people say that, it happened once.... a long time ago...That doesn't make it a practice.

I hear the video is very good though.
