Gerald, I would suggest you try holding your new friend while giving him a bath.
This should help you decide if it's really a good idea to hold a cat while base jumping.

maybe the cat can be attached to the bridle, and it's claws used to static line an object, like a giant scratching post? should be light enough not to screw up the canopy flight too much, and hopefully it holds on until line stretch. better leave the PC on just in case.

Id jump with a cat only if I could duct tape its paws. cause if that fucker scratched me Id throw it so far and that wouldnt be good.

A dozen years ago I had a girlfriend
who had a cat, it climbed a tree, and
the only way I was gonna get laid that
night was if the cat was back home safe.

Hence I shimmied up the tree, got to the
cat, then had to fight my natural inclination,
which was chuck it down...

Instead I stuck it inside my t-shirt and let
it slowly bleed me while sliding down an
almost limbless tree.
