95 feet / 29 metres SL with OSP (over ground)

An Italian jumper has been using the OSP for a series of low SL jumps over hard ground.

He commented on increased canopy time & flying distance compared to his previous canopies.

On this 29m jump he even used toggles - although risers would usually be a better choice this low.

Edit: i stand corrected - it is SL

Nice work.

Can you confirm it was a Dbag jump. I might be wrong but it looked like a SL, it is a little hard to tell on the video

Either way its bloody impressive.

In the slow mo it definitely looked like a SL. Anyone confirm?

Agree.

It looked like he was in really shallow breaks too.

I edited my original post - it was static line.

Thanks. I wasn't trying to be a smart arse. Just interested in techniques used at low altitudes.
I have never done a dbag but I have SL 111ft over hard ground on my troll. I only just got my breaks off and continued the arm movement straight into the flare.

Just trying to imagine losing around 15% of the altitude with the same deployment method.
Hmmmm better check the exchange rates again.

Yo Jools, This is the same type of mast I posted about before, wondering about S/L vs. TARD. I tried both using my 260 Blackjack and it went pretty well both times except for the bloodshed.
The OSP makes it look a lot more do-able, although I could sell the Blackjack to ya if it helps. One careful owner, (then me...)

Dave

So was there more bloodshed on the SL or on the TARD?

A direct bag would have probably been wiser.

Not sure any technique from 95ft could be classifed as "wise.' Tongue

we have jumped several SL jumps from this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAE7fQ3OK0o , some of them even without vents(mojo). Some jumpers were able to unstw the brakes and steel.
Canopy flight times were from 0,2sec (one in the video) to several seconds.

height is 31m.
