I just heard a rumor from another jumper that someone we know was injured recently but has no further knowledge.

Why start a thread with an obviously loaded question.? What difference does it make to you. Anyone who is injured (and recently) should receive a little time to reflect than someone starting a cross examination of them.

Several PM's have led me to beleive we are speaking about different individuals. Since there are so few female base jumpers i thought my vagueness would be ok. Unfortunately it seems I was too vague as there *might* have been multiple injury incidents. Because of this I can see how my original post could have been misinterpreted as being inappropriate and for that confusion i do apoligize.

Yeah! what the is up with that? Only male jumpers are allowed to get injured in BASE. Can you imagine as a guy, crutching up to the Horner Bar and meeting a crutched Lady and exchanging disastrous jump stories.
It's wrong man, totally wrong.

I don't think I'm the one they are writing about, but anyway too bad no one told me that girls are not allowed to get injured before I broke my leg! If I only had known it before...

I was only told (by my boyfriend) that there are double standars for boys and girls in jumping, for example in opening altitudes : According those rules 20 second canopy ride for girls is pulling low, 10 second canopy ride is not acceptable, but in the other hand for boys 20 secs is nose bleeding high pulling and 10 sec is normal and so on

But as I wasn't aware of all those rules I still have to be crotched lady for some months still, and I am planning to crutch up to Horner pub at some point, and maybe even change some disastrous jump stories, sorry

I remember a film clip of Marta doing a stated 3sec from the green monster (read 6sec) brilliant. Also I remember a Norge crew taking a female BASE student that out tracked the talus and added more than 15secs to the record for that wall (brilliant). The Ladies of the sport actually set the standards for us guys. It goes right back to Jean Boenish. That sucks because we males have to "up the bet". As it ever was.

Nope, that's not Marta, it's Anne.

Just to adjust the history, it was "The trackman Stein Olsen" himselves who passed the ledge first on Karlskråtind, who was the man in charge of the student :-) No new record, but hell of a surprise from all the others.
