in everybodyz humble Opinion what's suit is in between the Phantom2 & the Vampire 3 as far as performance/speed etc. regardless of brand. or mono-wing etc. just want to know what the "the in between" is?

Ghost 2 would be my best guess, but I've never jumped one.

I do not think the Ghost two has the speed of either. The ghost is certainly has more float than the P2. What exactly are you looking for in a ws?

i just need more foward speed-but just not V3 speed, and yes ive jumped a vampire (about 30 jumps- SD only) and i felt the speed was too much for me right now in the BASE enviroment.

i like my Phantom2 but just need some more forward speed inthe BASE enviro.

When you say faster. Do you mean:

1. Initial inflation to flying speed.
2. Shallow glide max speed
3. Average glide max speed
4. Maneuverability speed

?

Virgil flew the balls off a ghost in the valley so maybe he can comment. If the V3 is too much for you, get your hands on a V2 for super cheap. You can get the p2 going pretty damn fast forward with a little practice as well. My flights on my p2 were pretty near my v2 as far as distance and not lacking all that much in forward speed.

dont get me wrong. the Phantom2 is flying right and im doin fine. but iwas merely wondering what suit out therr might be the next step, the next step between the V3 and what i got.

and i personaly find it hard to believe that the V2 and the Phacro2 have similar forward speed? at least baste on my experiance.  not to say your wrong. just find it hard.... 

the big difference I really didnt like was: getting slammed hard in full flight!!!! in the V2! now granted that was 2 years ago and maybe im more ready now? i dont know? but in the mean time:

that's not because it's a V2

that's because you pull in full flight

learn to flare your suit out just before and as you pull and that should be the end of getting slammed

worked for me even with a CUS Blackjack

works in a V3 too

Just sew wing extensions on your phantom.

Similar, not exactly the same in forward speed, and phantom not phacro. Obviously the phantom floats a bit more when trimmed out for maximum glide vs the vampire. Take a look at the guy who won the base race last year on video, he does flares beautifully before deployment in his V2.

ive always pulled in Full flight, and dont jump with other WS guys so i reeaally dont know about "Flareing" out a wing suit???

There used to be like a 15 min video you could download of the 2008 race. I cant seem to find the link anymore but some great examples of this are on there. I think of it as how youd pop on a skydive, it makes you go up, but reduces your forward speed and downward speed dramatically.

Just as i really started to fly i pulled and that was like 400-500 ft. It was still fun as shit and i had a rock solid exit flight 14sec and deployment. Its all about making to the ground in one piece on your first ws base right?

Thanks for the link again, that video is great. So for the OP, look at 2:19, thats what you might be describing as your opening and not being thrilled about. Carefully watch the far jumper in the two jumps around 4:25ish. 11:47 is a nice closeup example, and look at the softness of the opening.

Ok, not to be negative, but I'm a shitty tracker and a dirty high puller (everybody who knows me can confirm this) but even I manage to clear the treeline in my tracking pants from the high nose...
And I have seen some terrible and scarry Wingsuit jumps from the high nose but I have never until today seen anybody not making it to the street in a Wingsuit (even shitty pilots in prodigys make it over the street). So I'm curious to see that video, maybe I can see something new

Travis's nickname is chunks and he's about 5'8" so as far as physics and aerodynamics go he's at a serious disadvantage even if he was an awesome pilot.

The ghost is definetely a step up from the p2, it is faster, different flying style though.

I think the raptor from tonysuits is also in between, as well as the t-bird. as far as I know you can get an s- bird as well, the same wings as t-b with a super mach leg.

The new S- fly suit, I think it's the verso and the profly could be in there as well.

Are there many people using the ghost for BASE? Do the airlocks affect things around deployment time at all? I've only flown a ghost once (skydiving) and don't have any wingsuit BASE so I don't know much about it.

Not that I know of. The P2 has airlocks though. With the size of the wings on other suits being base jumped I don't see how the ghost would be much different. And homeboy wanted suits between phantom and V...
