French Big Walls - Conact?
Hi,

Jhonny "Medusa", Dan & Rob (from North Carolina) and I are in Lauterbrunnen until the 13th. Though we're having a blast here, we would like some bigger walls if possible. Dan & Rob spent some time at the ITW but the weather is not good and it's not worth the trip right now.

We've heard a lot about big walls in France, which apparently isn't too far away. Medusa and I have a car and Dan & Rob have one, so we've got the pre-requisite 2 cars most big jumps seem to require.

All we lack is a guide as none of us has jumped France before.

Anyone here either know a French local, is a French local, or know anyone who can show us around? PM me if you can help out.

Though there have been some French jumpers here in LB, now is not the time to be pestering them as I respect their mourning and my only interactions with them have been to extend condolences over the loss of their friend.

Thanks,

Brian

don't expect much help from the french, they usually don't share their exit points...

(nearly) False !
Just don't expect having much contact or infos on internet, or only in PM. Come on some known exit point, meet people in the real life and then, you will be able to jump real nice exits ...

Real life -> real jumps Cool

Re: [MontBlanc] French Big Walls - Conact?
I'm hesitant to drive all the way there without a plan (not just me but my 3 companions). We're only going to risk the trip if we can contact someone ahead of time. I realize personal introductions are best, but that's not always possible. And as I explained, I'm respecting the privacy/mourning of the few French jumpers who are here by not pestering them about jumping France so soon after their loss.

thats very unfair to the frenchies, i've found them all to be very helpful if you make an effort, but heed MontBlanc's advice, the internet is not the way to go about it....

Ok, you are right of course. What I wanted to say is don't expect help if you are making a post at BJ.com. The french are a bit more sensitive about protecting their exits and I am 100% sure he will not get an answer based on this post.
I like the french (most of them... Wink)and I respect their way to protect the exits.

agreed. you need to make personal contact with someone and gain trust. if you haven't met any french jumpers in switzerland you will be taking a chance by going, but why not. if you can't jump there is plenty to see and take in while in france. there is more to life than just getting in those last couple jumps.
