If you look at the bottom left of the pic, it says "report a problem". You should have read that before you jumped Wink

my last few 300' free stander jumps have been in a 15 MPH wind but just Little crosswind, so far never had a 160 off but at sub terminal my canopy did seek the wind line. I take it if you don't have the wind directly at your back at sub terminal this will happen most times?

don't forget the 100 or so buzzards we climbed past on the tower, and the sight of a flock of birds flying around the tower after we scared them off, except for that one that you had to use your rig to puch off it's perch.

I had a 180 with line twist the last time I jump off our really tall freestander. After i fixed the flying backwards situation I got to see a close up view of what the steal looks like when your flying directly at it and cleared the corner by about 4ft. It was fun

I'd think that flying backwards after a 180 wouldn't be the kind of thing one is eager to "fix". Smile

2 sec. delay from 260 feet......something tells me your seconds are a bit off. A true, full 1 sec. I could see but 2?????

the base tower was 260' with a 100' spire on top(see photo), and we exited from the very top platform... total height was about 360' by our count, tower is registered at 374' without apurtenances on FCC. I saw his exit, solid 2 seconds, i took about 1.5

that was one hell of an exciting tower.

Do you know what the winds at opening altitude were doing? In the first post you say downwind 15mph. I would think the winds could not have been that strong "downwind" at opening altitude. If they were, then some tuning of your DBS should be done asap. A 15mph wind would have the canopy backing up AWAY from the steel with proper DBS settings

The wind (direction/speed) at the exit point is good to know, however, the wind at opening altitude is WAY more important!

I think you got us mixed up. Mine was a completely different jump off a different tower. I was jumping in 5 mph wind and i am loading my canopy pretty good. It wasnt a offheading I was doing a aerial inspection of the tower.....Pirate
