helmets
i am curious. how many of you wear a full face mountain bike helmet when you flick?
i ask in regards to the recent incident with scott in TF, and if i read correctly it seems he was wearing a regular pro-tec style skateboard helmet.
i would definitely want to choose a full face helmet for safety reasons, including keeping my teeth in place in the event of a cliff strike.
on the flipside, in the event of serious injury, a full face helmet would be blocking your throat/vitals, and though ive not yet put one on, it seems that maybe it would effect your peripheral vision in a bad way?
any opinions are appreciated

Re: [UberChris] helmets
I use a protec, but have wanted to get a full face. You make some good points, so I say, get one with no loss on peripheral vision, and with a removable chin in case someone needs access to your airway without having to risk the stability of your neck.

Re: [UberChris] helmets
you should check out the lazer downhill helmet, really good full face protection without compromising any peripheral vision. also unlike skydiving helmets they are actually rated to take an impact

I had a look at some bell mountain bike helmets in a local bike shop and after being around skydiving helmets for a while was surprised how much better they are and are actually designed to protect the head from an impact. I tried a full face one on and thought that the field of vision was excellent. i ordered a superseeded model from this web site for $55.

Re: [UberChris] helmets
I had a solo gone bad. my head slammed into the concrete so hard I might have been briefly blacked out. I came to, found my car, and had serious problems remembering how to get home. I'm sure I sounded quite confused when I phoned my buddy.

thus, I really, really like helmets! that impact was to the right side of my head, so the limited Pro-Tec did a great job. I now jump a full face helmet. that bulky thing even has gone overseas with me.

So that is whats wrong with you....

So you never did master "the art of flying"....

Edited to add-

Infact, biceps, where you dropped on your head earlier in life? They say that people who have been generally end up retarted. I'm sure your too girls are proud of their retarted Dad. And I do still secretly love you and want to meat you in the camel paddock
