Unless you get something like that guy from the video, go skydiving first or maybe find a crazy enough jumper who would maybe PCA you or something...

Oh and, this is a nice video actually, it just proves you don't have to be a kickass skydiver with 10k jumps under your belt to do these kind of things (but it helps off course)...

Actually I have more skydives than posts.

I'm commenting the video, which clearly shows what I've said. And as far as I know, people can voice their opinions on this forum, doesn't matter if they are a jumper or not, or was I wrong, the rules changed and all the non jumpers are now muted?

So where around Las Vegas can someone base jump? Also anyone looking to do it anytime in June or July so maybe I can watch in person to get a better feel for it. Thank you.

Just buy a parachute and jump off the Hoover Dam. There is water at the bottom and it is like a big slide. So if something goes wrong you will prob hit the wall and slide down to the water. I dont see any life threatening situation you might encounter besides the obvious. Have fun buy some gear off ebay and you should be fine. 321 Splatter...

Afterwards you need to get some instruction. Lucky again, Sangi is here to help you. In case you are not familiar with how to use this IIF (Internet Instructional Forum), just Private Message him by clicking on his Profile and using the "Send Private Message" button. Lastly, and most importantly you need to pick an object to jump from, and Travisjones actually pointed out one of the safest things around Vegas, as water will definitely be much more forgiving in the very small chance of you messing something up.

Dude $250.00 thats a good deal. With a CruisLite and reserve. Wonder Wonder Wonder whats in a Wonderhog. I might have to buy that thing before this guy does. FYI (RichardNixon) make sure you do a three handle check before you jump incase your ripcord on your first parachute messes up, that way you can cutaway and pull your back up before you hit the soft water filled with rocks.

....Almost Forgot dont forget to use a Fly suit.

Hey bring a fast car a bag of blow and a few decent hookers and i'll let you ground crew for me this weekend. Then after the blow is gone i'll PCA you off a skecthy antenna.

Another plus there is if you have a canopy malfunction, you can just spiral into the high voltage wires for a hugh discount on cremation expenses.

Is the antenna the one in your photo? Where is that located? I would like to see this in person so I fully understand what is going on and the risk involved.

It takes like 550ft to kill someone, so if you want to see what it's like first, just find some big hotel on the strip and check it out.

I've been trying to get into base for close to a year (age has prevented me from doing it earlier). It has consumed me.
Do hours of research read every article you can find. Ask every question you can think of and get into skydiving.
It's hard but can be done. I just turned 18 and just got my first aff jump

Its not a bucket list item. Just something that is interesting to me. I would like to see it first. I am not just going to jump and hope for the best not knowing a damn thing. Just posted to talk to the locals and see what the options were.

Well, I have yet to go skydiving. But it looks like that is the best place to start than starting from base jumping. I thought base jumping would be easier first. I guess wrong. I would still like to watch it sometime and also where is a good place to skydive around vegas?

First impressions are wrong most of the time, yeah the people who do it make it look easy...

There are so many things to learn before you go into BASE (but sometimes with proper people it's doable earlier like in the red bull video), you don't even know if you would like it, try skydiving at first and see how you feel about that...

i suppose sangi kinda reminds me of this kid that works on my ship with me. he refuses to work, will not lift a finger, makes us pick up all his slack, and tries to talk to everyone like he actually has a clue whats going on.

we are gonna get a spray bottle from safeway so that everytime he tries to talk to us we will give him a few quick sprays to the face, like you would to an annoying cat to shoo it away. mixture will consist of water and a bit of pepper spray.

Sangi, that redbull video didnt prove shit, have you seen this guys exits? Imagine if he would do exit like that stowed, of something harder then a bridge. I never basejumped but im pretty sure you could PCA a monkey of a bridge and it would most likely survive...unless it tries to climb on the lines

Miles PCA'd a bag of dog food off the bridge too, don't think because all the video you've seen nothing went wrong, that nothing goes wrong. A bag of dog food, or a kid with no experience and a head high exit, might not react at all/fast enough/correctly, in a life threatening/react now or die situation.

Just to be clear, I think Miles is an awesome guy.

I'm actually going to type a serious, non-sarcastic, reply to you in this funny-ass thread.

If you really want to get into BASEhumping then start skyjumping first. Listen, learn, and respect people in that sport. Take your time. You will meet a lot of very knowlegdable people over time. People who actually know what the fuck they are talking about and more importantly know what they are doing. As lifewithoutanet said before, you dont just get this shit handed to you off a lame ass forum website, you earn it, period!!

Skydive Mesquite is the best place around Vegas (1 hr. north) to learn how to skydive. There are other places closer, but fuck em', they dont support experienced skydivers so dont do business there. The owner of SDM is an ex-base jumper and is one bad ass mo-fo. Great guy and he WILL teach you how to skydive.

Hope you are actully serious and not a fucking troll cause I just wasted a lot of time........
