Sober Superdave
I really want to extend my thanks to everyone who texted, called and left messages of support for me. Today I came home and celebrated 30 days sober and realized it's the longest I have been sober in at least 15 years and I can't recall when I have felt this good.

I had never been to treatment, AA or anything like that in the past and I have to say it was an extremely positive experience. I was able to learn a lot about alcoholisim and how it affects various people, but more than that I was able to take a real hard look at myself.

I don't pretend to have all the answers and my battles are far from over, but if anyone is struggling with anything like I was I strongly recommend talking to a friend or someone you know that is sober. It's hard to tell someone that you are having a problem but it's what made a huge difference and helped me take a look at myself.

Once again, thanks everyone!

There is not much in life I take seriously, but this type of accomplishment deserves a serious ATTA-BOY!Wink
Keep up the great work.

facing up to problems and not run from them.
working to improve oneself.
acting responsibly.

yep, that sounds like a great way to set a positive example! (I also doubt it is easy.)

So, are you giving up jumping as part of your sobriety? Don't you associate jumping with being drunk? Don't you fear falling off the wagon if you are jumping and you desire something to calm your nerves after a jump?

When I became "willing to go to any lengths" to stay off drugs and alcohol I assumed I'd have to give up the things I enjoyed - skydiving and such. By the grace of a higher power I was able to continue jumping. Thats been 25 yrs. ago, in fact, made my first bridge jump last Monday and hope to be back Friday.
How do you get 100 base jumps? I suppose one jump at a time.
Good job - one day at a time bro. RobH
