One month have passed, since the last BASE related accident I know of. I would like to bring the WBR slogan on to the basejumper board "Zero incidents". I really hope some of you can think what this means for you, and come up with a slogan we are going to use for next year World BASE Race.

I will try to get one of the BASE related manufactures to cooperate with us, and give a present for the best slogan. World base race will use the slogan on the official athletes T-shirts 2010, with your signature. Help us to make the sport safer, and to make WBR history!

I promise I will not be involved in a BASE incident until I am able to jump again. After that, I offer no promises.

Thats a sponsorkiller I wish I could run this without any sponsors at all, but unfortunately we need them. Registration and transport will be free this year, thats all I can promise so far.

There will be some jumpers who never attended a high profile event before, or never made a race like this coming to WBR. I know there are plenty who want to come with less wing suits jumps on their neck then they should to prove they can, and there will come jumpers who have very few jumps with their new wingsuit. Know your limits is more proper maybe, but anyway my experience is there will arrive jumpers we have no idea how they will handle the race. This is full on race 750 meter head to head. I promise when you are getting the count your stress level reach the top, your mind turn black, and you go hard to win. The whole clue is to keep your head straight and follow your plan. Actually a more decent flight proved to be one of the best strategies last year than full on down head diving.

What i wrote is just key words to build slogans, not necessary guidelines. Hope you take your time for a visit one day.

I'm in the middle of paying bills and that sucks. So this is a nice distraction. Plus if I win the logo comp that will justify to my wife, me going to Norway.

As for the picture if it's of me with a Ukranian hooker...I have the same one. We should compare.

BASE Jumping: Why not?

Is this just a wingsuit contest or can you participate if you are tracking?

On their website it says any gear that gets you down safely. The main pic on their site shows to jumpers in tracking suits.

If you think you can do the race safe? We have pulled the finish line up around 90 meter from the road this year, so the fastest wingsuits will have more space to hit the brakes when they pass top speed 250 km/h. Last year it was around 40 meter from the road. This also means we want the racers to pull higher as well. Remember this is the early years of the WBR, and we want to make it as safe as possible, but also fun for the athletes, and the public. Ski, motor, and other high speed sports have long history, and we can look how they progressed. I dont see any reason we should start in the low end, and overlook all the mistakes they have done from start. We can start in the high end, and thats where I need help from everybody to make sure we are at the top of everything from the very beginning.

Just start telling yourselves that you are not going to get hurt, I am not going to die doing what i love most, is a good start. When you start telling you that, you also start focusing on how you are going to stay on that path. Shit happens do happen, but look at the list, there is not many shit happens there. Dyeing is not the nature of the sport any more, stupidity is. Im sorry for everybody who got hurt, but there is not cool to limping around, especially when you are one of those yourselves.

Is the idea behind the race to get to the ground before the person youre racing against or to get the farthest distance from the exit point?

I have chose to use "the Know your limits" for this years profile, and the web designer is closing up the deadline right now. Unless someone comes with a killer line for next year, I believe this line will stand with the profile for a long time. We had Safety rules, and no incident last year, we will still hang on to those two for the future as well, but the new one will be the official slogan.

I'm pretty sure the winner of a fastest to the ground race wouldn't enjoy winning much (or long).

You fly passed the finish line and the race part is over, but you have to land inside the landing area, and have a minimum canopy time, or altitude. I guess we will use a combination to judge how low you pulled if it will be a problem. We will have 3 judges on the finish line this year, 3 jury members, and 3 safety judges. So we will pick 6 jumpers who is attending, and do not go on to be one of the 32 athletes for first round. Wednesday 12 will be the final round/pick of the jumpers. If we have bad weather we will go on with the jumpers we know, and those who have proved their jumping up to WBR standard. More information will come on the new designed web as fast we get it up running.

Almost another month gone by, and we are doing good as far I know. Im sure there have been many mishaps around, but it seems now at the end of the month, we made it trough. This is the time when jumpers start lowering their shoulders, and start firing up their guts. The summer season have just started.
