Re: [skydivewytse] dubai jumpers
Hi,

I am a newbie living in Dubai.I havent done any basejumps in Dubai because of the potential of being busted and the consequents for me as someone holding a resident visa here.

But I was about to send a message to the forum about the 120m-antenna in Umm Al Quwain which is 50 km away from Dubai.I have been planing to jump it for a while.I heard that it was jumped already by 1-2 jumpers. If one of you guys is reading this , please send me a PM.I would like to ask you a few thing.

And Wytse, I dont know how long you are gonna be around here.Lets exchange the contact infos, then we can go and have a look at the antenna together.I can also show you around and the other objects that I have been thinking about.

C ya.

Re: [fastpete] dubai jumpers
The biggest problem jumping in Dubai isn't the cops....
If its a 'B' ...
Its the big construction companies running most of the construction projects.
Emaar, Nakheel, Besix et al.
They will take it personally as an insult....Understand the Arabic culture and you'll understand that.

Get caught and its these people who will push the case through the courts...Police are just the puppets...and as their Police Chief told me over a rather nice lunch.
'If you have permission from the building owner...we have no problems with you jumping'

Top tips.....
1) Don't get caught..
2) Carry two passports ( you will have to surrender one if caught)
3) Plan for quite an extended stay if caught, whilst its processed through the Public Prosecution..
4) Don't get caught ;)

All that said....there are some lovely things to jump in and around the city.....and despite round the clock construction on alot of stuff....access is reasonably easy.....just be sure you have thought through the consequences of what might happen if you are pinched....and if its still worth it to you....I say go for it !
Dubai is a BASE jumping playground :)

Good hunting

I complelety believe that Dubai is a BASE jumping playground and really hope to enjoy it soon. And for my condition, the golden rule and the best tip u wrote is "Don't get caught.. " :)
