Lauterbrunnen Aug. 21 to Aug. 30
How's it going. I will be going to Lauterbrunnen Aug. 21 to the 31. I got all my gear mailed to me here in Iraq so I'm hope they will let my out with it. I'm looking to see if anyone or groups will be there to show me around or let me tag along. I'm good for buying the beer for the help. I have done my homework and will be ordering a phone. I have a track suit that I have skyjumped last time I was home. The only thing I have not done is book a hotel room. Does anyone know which one I should stay at? That would be close to a bar and food?

Thanks B

Not trying to be an a*****e but if your profile is correct you have 34 jumps over 2 years? If you have done your homework you also know that the walls in LB are generally regarded as advanced tracking jumps and not well suitable for beginners. It's good that you have practised with your track suit out of airplane but I'd suggest to give it a first go from somewhere else than LB. ITW is only 6 hours away from LB and it is far more better place for low experience cliff jumper.

Just couple of thoughts, play safe and have fun!

Thanks for y'all thoughts and maybe I will go to ITW. But now I need to know about ITW. I have put all my free time here reading up on Lauterbrunnen. Can anyone point me in the right way to start looking up where to fly in to, where to stay for I will need a hotel I have no camping gear here. If there will be anyone to show me a exit point ( I will pay in beer Cool). I have a 14 day R&R at the end of Aug. so I'm up for anything for it will be better anywhere then here.

I don't know what branch you are and what kind of gear you got, but I took my ruck, my sleeping bag and my stash bag with me. They flew me to Ali Al Saleem and they set you up to go pretty much anywhere you want, drive you to Kuwait City Airport and it was really smooth. I didn't have to go through customs at all and was able to check my bags in Kuwait and not have to deal with them until I got to my destination in Munich.

I was thinking LB at first also, but after some advice from friends I decided on ITW and it was amazing. Only got one jump because of the time of year I went, but you'll probably get a lot more as long as you can find people to jump with. You need two cars or a driver otherwise a 1-1.5 hour hike becomes an 8 hour hike. The Muchobase guys I met were great. Base283 lives just north in Munich, but I think he'll still be out of town or I'd definitely recommend offering to buy him a beer, that guys a blast to hang out with.
