Re: [chipm50] West Virginia Bridge Day
Registered jumpers will be able to reserve rooms starting August 1st. You can pick from the following lodging:
-15 cabins at River Expeditions. Cabins feature six bunks with double-size foam mattresses, electricity, lights, and porch. You supply pillows, sleeping bags or bedding and blankets. Cabins are located near the showerhouse and restrooms. I'll take more detailed pics shortly. Price is $65/Night on Sunday - Thursday and $75/Night on Friday - Saturday.
-Camping at River Expeditions (unlimited # of tents). Price is $10/Person/Night on Sunday - Thursday and $15/Person/Night on Friday - Saturday.
-Unknown number of Tents on Platforms, which are a convenient way for you to enjoy all the fun of camping, without all the hassle of packing a tent, setting it up and tearing it down. Their large, four-person tents are set up on wooden platforms and covered by a tin roof to protect you from the elements. They come equipped with four foam mattresses - the only gear you will need to bring is your sleeping bag or bedding, and pillow. Price: $40/Night on Sunday - Thursday and $45/Night on Friday - Saturday.
-5 RV sites (3 on Fri/Sat) at River Expeditions. RV Sites are new and improved this year, complete with water and electric hook ups and even a dump station on-site. Sites are centrally located near the showerhouse/restrooms and feature a fire ring and picnic table so you can still enjoy the best part of camping, even if you're only semi-roughing it. Price: $35/Night on Sunday - Thursday and $40/Night on Friday - Saturday.
-50 rooms at the Comfort Inn across the street from River Expeditions. I believe the price is around $190/night on Friday and Saturday. It's considerably cheaper earlier in the week.
-50 rooms at the Quality Inn (the closest motel to the bridge). I'll also have to confirm pricing on this motel, but I believe it's around $175/night Friday and Saturday. Once again, cheaper prices are available earlier in the week.
We're still working out some details, but all this info should be in the
Bridge Day 2009 website very soon. Don't forget we (Skydive Inc. and Vertical Visions) have a C-182 and Stearman biplane at a small airport about a mile down the road from River Expeditions. There's nothing like a scenic plane ride near the NRGB followed by a skydive. Skydive Inc's
"Skydive The Bridge" website provides more details
