Broken backs
Just found out that i have fractured my t11 t12 and L1, my very nice doctor has told me not to involve myslef in any impact sports for 3 months,.

Is he crazy?

Any1 got experiance in this, he used the words you'll paralise yourself if you jolt it badly, is he for real?

i have done in my t3 - t5 b4 but was in serious shit that time with no option but to stay flat.

Pm's would be better if anyone has done this with reciovery time etc

Re: [crashtested] Broken backs
Yes, that is serious, and if you want to be able to continue to do the things you love I recommend listening to the doc and take it easy for a few months. It's a few months versus the rest of your life.

Re: [annibal] Broken backs
let you injuries heal properly or they will haunt you for life. i've been down before for 6 months recuperating. Probably a little more than a year overall from BASE accidents over the last 17 years.

Ditto on the above. I broke 6 thoracic vertebrae among other (more minor) things and took a 1-year hiatus before jumping again. That's probably more conservative than one has to be, but as they say, the objects will still be there. Drink lots of milk, work out, take your time, and you can come away from this even better than you went in.

After having back problems similar to yours, I found working out daily via hard cardio will help with the pain.

Only if you don't consider high speed impact under a ball of nylon going on....

I seriously need to start using "preview post" more carefully.

Re: [crashtested] Broken backs
dude, your back is already not going to be the same i.e. its going to hurt when you sit too long, stand too long, work too long....anyway...
just take it easy for now.
plus
you could cause a stable fracture to become unstable. you shouldnt carry more than 15lbs for the next few months either.
heal quik!
