Jumping With Water
I'd like to hear what people have been doing when they need to jump with 2-3 L of water. A few things I've been doing are:

a) Filling a 2L camelback, putting it in a stash bag, putting it on backwards, and wearing it under my clothes
b) using multiple 1L water pouches and stuffing them in every pocket I can

I've also seen some people use a fanny pack.

These methods work, but I'd like to see if anyone else has a better idea, or which idea they prefer. Thanks!

take two gallon jugs full of water... tie each of them to a 50+ inch pilot chute with some cord.... use them as wdi's off the object... and hope they survive... and that you can get to them wherever they land.... haha I just thought of this one not the best way but would be fun to experiment with...

1 gallon jugs w/ 42" pilotchutes don't work unless they land in water. Laugh

Don't ask how I know

a buddy and I threw a bunch of 1 liter bottles and and rocks and stuff off a 100ft face in germany with various skydiving pcs and a tandem drogue, all packed for different delays lol... we only had one fatality out of about 8 jumps or so... it was a bottle... (I think the rocks were more familiar with the site hence the reason they all survived)

I've jumped with a Camelbak stuffed into the leg of my pants (with a drawstring on the bottom). This didn't seem to interfere with my exits.

These days, though, I jump with the Camelbak tucked under my chest armour, in front of the belly, oriented horizontally. Make sure it's under the armour, and not just under your jacket, where it can fall out--I lost one that way.

ive been thinking it would be sweet to integrate a bladder pouch in the backpad of a rig.

the water must be for the hike out? otherwise, get a platypus, its a softwalled waterbottle (think camelbak with no hose) that you can carry on the hike, then empty and roll up at the exit point

good luck!

multiple 20oz platypi work great. put in pockets.

Out of curiosity, I had to look up the plural of Platypus. The answer I liked best is:

"Regardless of what any US dictionaries or other references might say, the Platypus is an Australian animal and ALL Australian references say that the plural of Platypus, is Platypi."

i wear my camelbak backwards i.e., on my chest. Depending on how much water you put in it, its incredibly bulky and looks goofy as hell but it works. i'd be interested to hear about other ideas

Just stuff some platypi down the front of your wingsuit!

Oh, wait...
