Re: [jtnesbitt] "The Science of Adventure" - Outside Mag
I think BASE and gingers go together. Seriously. How often are "red heads" brought up in some relation to BASE, whether just on this forum or not? This guy mentions how your guys genetic whatever is the same as being a ginger. XD
Hahaha, anyway. Yeah. Good read.
This also brought up a thought for me. They mention the Darwin awards. What the Darwin awards fails to do is include socially acceptable stupidity like obesity that leads to heart disease and things like that. Like, eating McDonalds. Why aren't food-related (or specifically junk food) related deaths included? Diabetes caused by eating too much sugar, heart attacks from 50 years of unhealthy lifestyles...why is THAT overt retardation so socially acceptable? Anne doesn't understand. I also want to start saying that spending money saving them is wasted because they put themselves in that situation--much the same as "their" arguments about you jumpers.
I really enjoyed that article, although more for the sciency stuff than BASE. It's just interesting the way no one really knows how brains work. Like, they'll sy oh look! The amygdala didn't light up, this other thing did! Too bad we have no clue why! :D It's just fun!
