Sounds like the typical blow-hard to me. Internet or otherwise. People can make up any persona they want on the internet.

I was stationed at Fort Cambell twice in 9 years and 8 months of active service. 1st, from 1986-87, 1/327 Infrantry, 2nd time, from 1991-93, 2/327 Infrantry. There was never a Ranger battalion attached to the 101st then. Sounds like another one of those top secret black bag ops you only hear about at the truck stop to me.

According to this he was in a support platoon for an armor unit. Musta been a Ranger in another life.

First of all, the 101st was deactivated as an Airborne Battalion YEARS ago. Like 30 years ago. They are now air assault (they rappel from helicopters). They might both be stationed out at Ft Cambell, KY. But that's where the relationship ends.

2nd, the phrase Airborne Ranger is redundant. You can't even show your face at Ranger school without your Airborne wings. If you are a Ranger, of course your also Airborne. Real Rangers don't refer to one small part of their training and attach it to the beginning of Ranger. That would be like saying I'm a grenade throwing Ranger, or I'm a gun shooting Ranger, ya really think huh? This guy is a mook, pure and simple.

I dont think I have seen more disrespect from someone in my entire life especially from someone who clames to have served in the Armed Forces. I cant beleive you have the nerve to call those who gave thier lives pursuing something that you could never comprehend. I always wonder, "why?" when I read stuff like that. why write it? why send it? why post it for the world to read?

when I read such bile, I also wonder if it is a hoax. it is easy to spoof an e-mail address. I have seen examples of spoofed addresses by BASE jumpers. it really is difficult to track down who wrote it, unless they step forward.

it is the internet equivalent of requesting information for another person... filling out a raffle ticket (which will be entered onto a mailing list) using someone else's name.

still, I'm confused as to what purpose is served including the quote on the BFL. maybe it's just me. I see little use in spreading internet attacks. it reminds me of the "Arguing on the internet is like racing in the Special Olympics..."

someone else may have spoofed it. I have seen examples of such creative writing, both here and on BLiNC. so be it. I never accused you of being the author.
