Re: [SafetyNate] Magazine Article in Cleveland
I am guessing either some out of towners or the story has been made up. We all know Cleveland has no BASE jumpers.

what a fag... i do like the comments "are you trying to get sponsored by red bull with this shitty article."

i guess i will never be a real jumper because i dont "pound" red bulls before every jump

it read like a ad man's dream. it was the only product mentioned in the entire story. heck, companies pay big bucks to get "product placement" in tv shows, movies, mentioned on the radio, etc.

while the locals must deal with tightened security, surely some ad dude is yelling, "sweet!"

Re: [Ghetto] Magazine Article in Cleveland
I'm pretty sure in the picture he is rocking an old Javelin or a Death Dolphin. Still checking around no one seems to know who this person is. Even is his name were fake, a guy who is looking for this much publicity would have to be telling everyone. They apparently don't know shit because BASE is NOT illegal in Cleveland.

Re: [SafetyNate] Magazine Article in Cleveland
yep, zooming in on the picture, it is a skydiving rig.

don't forget, the article mentioned a second jumper, ground crew, the author, the photographer, and that they claimed this was NOT the first building jumped in the area.

if it is a true story, I'd think you'll figure out who it was.

I'm wondering if it is a piece of creative writing.

Re: [matt_f_001] Magazine Article in Cleveland
Sorry Matt you are mistaken.

If I had written that article I would have had him drinking the 11.9 ounce Special Edition Camouflaged Can Go Fast Energy Drink as he was doing a bandit jump.

Everyone knows the jumpers in Cleveland drink Go Fast Energy Drink as they prefer the exclusive herbal blend, lower sugar levels and a more sustained energy boost until they can get back to the alcohol in the get away vehicle that wasn't finished prior to the jump.

Two guys on a rooftop in a buttsex adventure, hmm, Gay BASE erotica. I wonder if there is a market for that?

$5000 rig? Landing on risers from 373'? Repeated use of the word "chute"?

Definitely fiction written by a non-jumper.

Re: [TomAiello] Magazine Article in Cleveland
Yeah, I agree. Good thing the ground crew was there to tell him a car was coming.Laugh

What a fucking ass. After reading it seems to be fake, but still pisses me off. The world would be better if this guy actually used a dolphin from a low building.

"—as told to Jay Casey"

Jay Casey has no clue. He probably interpreted an over enthusiastic newbie base jumpers words incorrectly. That's normal for the media especially when the subject does not know how to give a proper interview.

Granted, the entire thing is lame but my guess is this MIGHT have happened but hearing from certain people who know better, it probably did not. If it did, the jumper is new, the reporter doesn't have a clue either.

Re: [hookitt] Magazine Article in Cleveland
I love it !!

As the ground rushes up at me, I flare the chute out with the risers to ease the impact and come to a running landing
