Interal handle On a 36/38" PC and WS flying/back flying
Ok the recent conversation on single attachment conversation made me ask about the Asylum Internal Handle set up they offer.
So I like to backfly (yes in BASE--far from the first far- from the last to do so) anyway...
I've been using a 32"ZP vented fine mesh cuz I can stuff the whole thing in the BOC pouch and expose just the taped up PVC handle exposed and not worry bout a hard pull!
Recently started jumping with a large mesh 38" zp vented and when I stuff it in the boc pouch with just the PVC handle exposed it's like HArD Pull City.
Now if your belly to earth I just hace my PC puffed out and don't worry!

So getting to the moral of the Post (epic--sorry)----

How do you safely Backfly with a. 36" internal handle ZP PC??? I'm assuming because the handle is covered it would be really difficult to stuff all but the handle?

Oh and BTW I use the Mushroom packing method (which makes the PC fatter) I don't like the SD fold up style to make it fit better.

So anybody familiar with the Asylum internal handle PC and backflying with em'? Wanna share some ideas?

Thank you for reading this epic post.

Re: [PAINTitBLACK] Interal handle On a 36/38" PC and WS flying/back flying
I use a 38" asylum vented ZP floating internal handle on everything 5 sec or more.
I also always make sure the BOC or WS pouch are never a 'compression' triangle, meaning that on a BOC the spandex never has to stretch more than it already is to let the PC extract. like a wedge in a wedge shaped hole, even if the spandex was 'solidified' it would still allow the PC to extract, this also means that the only thing keeping the PC in the pouch is fabric friction, not mechanical blockage. I never have had a problem with it. I have no idea how much drag the PC handle would produce if i was back flying.

I actually dislike the Vampire 1's pouch because it is very hard to make this wedge shape thing out of the PC, the compression part of the pouch is at the opening, and the rest Balloon ZP, making it very hard to inset the PC, and if not tested/primed prior to flight, could very easily become a 'hard pull'

Re: [Calvin19] Interal handle On a 36/38" PC and WS flying/back flying
Calvin19--Do you shove all your 38 in?--just leaving the handle and the mesh cover-- Or do you have a chunck out (exposed ZP-mushroom top)the floating handle and cover exposed while doing arial exits , barrell rolls and my favorite Backfling? Sorry for all the ques. Just something on my mind!i've only ever jumped 32zp vented small mesh and sometimes 36zp vented small mesh and that started messing with me melon! So I'm switching and feel all....Like an old dog with a new trick....
I guess I'll have to get one and play with it?

Re: [PAINTitBLACK] Interal handle On a 36/38" PC and WS flying/back flying
I try to make the PC flat and even, as opposed to a drop or a ball, so that the BOC does not stretch any farther as the PC is extracted. this completely eliminates the chances of a 'hard pull'.
I just a 36 interna/vented zp when I am jumping from an airplane, or tracking full terminal, but that is the smallest PC i use. same deal, PC is in the BOC, but I pack it as such that there is most of the bulge and fabric directly at the lip of the BOC.

Re: [PAINTitBLACK] Interal handle On a 36/38" PC and WS flying/back flying
i use a 38 asylum internal for base wing. i dont back fly with it in base though. i only expose the internal handle with enough fabric for me to grab it solid. i have taken long 35 delays at speed and found it to be in the same place a left it at the exit. i like it so far although it does take some care to pack and get right the way u want it more than most pc's.. i use the mushroom packing method also,
