hi my names chris. i eagerly want to learn base jumping. recently i bought a backpack and chute off ebay and i just need to learn the basics. i know skydiving is recommended first but base just seems like more fun. so if anyone in the Socal area can show me some stuff thatd be great. chris

u r all set dude. u have your "backpack" and "chute" so now you need to find something that is at least 150 feet tall. get to the top of it whatever means necessary and just jump.....it's that easy!!!!
you can learn how to pack and how to fly the "chute" on the internet (use google.com).

ps i hope your new set-up came with a "pilot chute".

well i assume thats sarcasm. ive read sub 200' jumps are pretty much out of the question for beginners. ive done several bungee jumps though so im not new to free falling. and yes three pilot parachutes came with, as well as a carry bag. sky diving is probably good stuff but i believe ill be cool with base.

what kind of backpack is it?
and what kind of chute is it?
and how big are your pilot parachutes?

its a raven III chute in a vision set up. im not sure how the pilot chutes are measured. ive received several pms. fyi yes im for real, you guys all do base for a reason i know its not that hard to see why some one would want to be involved.

your going to die, find a mentor, learn to skydive, then learn to base jump, go to your local skydiving dz to start and go from there.
