I have been seeing more and more of this type of advertising that is keyword based. I think most of these sites are usually autogenerated and easy to pick out.

It's all an SEO thing. Probably generated by a purchased database of every sport out there, to get them some traffic from niche keywords. It's the same reason why my website, scubaspy.com, shows up on the front page when you search for 'Iraq Scuba Diving'
