Just saying hi
Hi everyone,

I'm new guy around, and just wanted to introduce myself and say hi. :-) I'm one of those who hopes to get into BASE jumping someday. I have finished my AFF recently and have only 30 jumps under my belt, so it's a very long road ahead. My current plan is to get additional 200 jumps (maybe more, we'll see how I progress), work on my tracking and landing skills and feed myself with knowledge about BASE. After that I'll buy a rig and get FJC. I estimate this will take me around two years. During that time I would like to find a mentor, but unfortunately I'm not very lucky from BASE environment view, as I live in Lithuania. We don't have any base jumpers here. :-( Anyway, I'm staying optimistic, and hopefully some day we'll meet on some exit points. :-) So, hi!

Hi. Sounds like a fun road ahead.

As far as a mentor goes, I'm assuming you have a car, since you can afford AFF and hope to get into BASE, so I recommend you hit up drop zones in the area and surrounding countries.

Lithuania is 65,000 square km and borders Latvia, Belarus, Poland and Kaliningrad, and from the northwest corner of Lithuania on the Baltic sea, to the far east part that juts into Belarus is only 372 Km, so it's not that far Wink

No, I don't have a car yet... maybe this summer. Anyway, I was thinking about finding BASE jumpers from neighbor countries too. I guess that's the only viable option for me. :-)

Thanks for welcomes. :-)
