Sharing A Jump
Happy Sunday Gang, Some may know the 6th day of the week
has been dubbed Freestander Friday and
as such I opened and closed a 268 footer.
The closest accessible road to the object is
approximately 1.4 miles away due to a gate.
I printed a sign that read:
Wildlife Photographer
Please Do Not Tow
Will Return Soon
Put the paper inside a folder with clear cover
and placed it on the front dash of my truck.
Of course if I am going to try and use this
ruse then I needed to bring my camera.
So I hike in wearing my stash bag, camera
bag clipped on the strap, and sipping on a
cup of good coffee.
On the way in I came across a poisonous Snake.
On Arrival was greeted by a Deer, a believe a
doe, hid my excess gear off in a shady corner and
started climbing, evaluating winds, exit side...
Decided on Exiting the side with zero horns,
see the right side in the photo, hooked up the
static line, called my reliable friend, double
checked everything 12 times, and jumped.
Good canopy, on heading, un-stowed brakes,
and began the intense / short Canopy Flight:
turned right, flew by the A, over the building,
cleared the fence & barb wire, fade right to
avoid power lines, and had a tip-toe Landing
between the gate posts.
Object Opened, Object Closed, at least for a while
