NEW FULL FACE HELMET FOR BASE
SmileHello all jumpers,
I just got my first look at the new 'GAS' full faced helmet from Cookie Composites and it has blown me away. It has taken them 3 years to perfect and it is amazing. It features a new technology impact protection material which has to be seen to be believed and it looks very stealth and cool. The tightening system is perfect and it is very comfortable as well as being very streamlined. The visor doesnt crack or fog up unlike the factory divers and is removeable. I only rave on about something if i think it is all time and it is. They will come with a camera mount option also and will be for sale within a few weeks so i am told. I am very excited about this product.
go to www.cookiecomposites.com to check them out and ask more questions. If you go on line, mention my name 'Douggs' and you will get a free smile and a thank you with every purchase as well as getting a product that looks cool and could save your life. I can also be contacted at douggs@basedreams.com
this helmet is ALL TIME.

I was told 6-8 weeks before they get the Flatlock and Top Mount Helmet adaptor for the Gas....

I plan on picking one up very very soon... I just hope they consdier selling the new better liners for the ozone seperately for us who already have a Rok helmet, or get a d3o liner for that helmet as well....

No doubt. I have been exchanging emails with Jason and am very much looking forward to this helmet... However having a new liner for my Rok would be icing on the cake.

Slider off/down base on solid objects with a nice open face camera helmet is an acceptable risk to many of us, but does not need to be.... I was just in Moab this week and thinking about it....

Can the camera mounts be placed on top instead of the side? need still camera and one or two video cameras to be mounted.

Where can I find more information about the impact protection? I'm always on the lookout for a full-face helmet that's got the kind of impact protection I've come to expect from other (non-BASE, non-skydiving) helments.

Edit to add: Duh. Here, of course. I remember hearing about this stuff before. Interesting...

Re: [blitzkrieg] NEW FULL FACE HELMET FOR BASE
Looks like another overpriced skydiving helmet to me.

The Giro Remedy seems like a better and cheaper choice!

Hmm...$320 bucks versus $90.
I'll have to pass on the GAS as I don't see the BASE need for a no-fog visor, audible pockets and oxygen inlet. Although the 02 might be nice on long hikes...

hmmm...
a factory diver is +/- 324AUD (215USD) and this one is 525AUD!!!!! wtf!? it seems to be way the f*ck overpriced to me. and the quality...is it as good as the flatlock? ...just remember someones camera getting some extra freefall together with the plate of the flatlock (it was actually perfectly mounted and the thing was pushed in as it's supposed to be!)...
doesn't make that helmet look to promising to me Wink
