Anybody ever switched internal harddrives in a notebook PC and been sucessful ?
I'm considering attempting this. Is it a big deal or not ?

Hardware installation seems easy. Somewhat worried about the drivers though.

Not on topic... but my G5 came with a 160 gig hard drive
and I added a 320 gig hard drive, which was easy to do;
open the case, snap it in like Lego's. Gotta love MACs Wink

Just as easy with a PC.

Though if you've got a Macbook Air nearly everything is soldered in place I believe, so you're SOL if you want to upgrade anything.

Edit: I wish you'd include a {/green} at the end of your posts. It's really annoying.

Can't justify $2500 for a laptop.

I don't think a Mac Pro is all that portable. Crazy

I was going to get a MBP but after thinking about it getting lost/stolen/broken/filled-with-sand in Africa, I decided to buy a $350 junker at best buy. It turned out to be a fucking sweet laptop. My only gripe is that its got vista home basic which doesn't come with IIS Manager. WTF kind of horseshit is that for a web developer MadMadMadMad
