Jumping the Shark
I think Para_Frog was the first to
use that term on this forum, but
the phrase has been around a
while and I have always dug it.

So the question is, especially
for you young kids who do not
remember rotary telephones Tongue
Was is the origin of this phrase?

First person who posts the correct
answer will win a partially used roll
of duct tape & an old pull up cord.

I'll take a shot:
The Otter?
Jumped it when I was in Pahoke.
I need the old pull up since I havn't been to a DZ in months; and the duct tape could come in handy too... Probably not the correct answer anyway.Smile

Re: [pocbase] Jumping the Shark
jtnesbitt got it right but I got
enough tape and pull cords
so you both can get "prizes" Wink

The record for the most buses
jumped on a motorcycle, circa
the TV 50's, was 12 and Fonzi
beat it by jumping 14, since
13 of course is unlucky, ha ha.

THEN later after Mork visited and
they ran out of shit to write about,
Fonzi jumped a shark water skiing,
hence the term and it's use when
something on the down slide just
goes real bad real quick.

I remember seeing it on TV. One of the ones with the knobs.....(and no it wasn't the first airing, but a re-run.....)
