Whats up I live in Bristol TN which is on the tn/va/nc state boarders. I am looking for some locals/not so locals to help me get a little more acquainted with Base Jumping.

if you want help, make it easy for people to help. give them a reason. convince them they'd enjoy helping you.

haha ok well let me try and whore myself out here.

I am 23 and currentily working on my pilots licence at my local airport( will have it completed this summer ) . I have never skydived/based but it is something I have always wanted to do. the closest thing I have ever done was that wind tunnle thing in the smoky's haha ( I know that means nothing). I was just wanting to maybe meet a few poeple have some beers and learn about this sport. I am gonna take my first skydive in march ( my bday). but my ultimate goal is BASE. I have noticed most base schools require a sport skydive licence so this summer I am gonna get that. but I just though for the time being I could meet some of you guys and learn a few things.

no harm in trying to reach out to the community... but seriously, my schedule is tight.

regardless these are my (possibly worthless) words of wisdom:

baby steps. focus on one thing at a time. mainly, skydiving and get good at it first.

many of us are/were accomplished pilots and skydivers before we ever stepped off the edge of a fixed object. it's in your best interest to enter the sport that same way.

of course, you can learn most of this and what others will say in response to your post by reading all the articles about getting into base on the homepage of this site.

yes, as in... i accomplished at least 25 skydives last year.

Maybe a new poll should be started: Did any of you ever start skydiving, TO LEARN HOW TO SKYDIVE - I sure did. I don't understand people now, they are just going through the motions------pass aff, buy a cheap, old school, large 7-cell and stick it in a container that is way too big for yourself, "practice" accuracy landings for 50 jumps, post some bullshit about finding locals to gc for, then taking a fjc at that bridge in mormon country.

To all courious newbies: stick with skyjumping for some time. It's actually fun! Of course there are others on here who are now too cool to skydive b/c they basehump, but take it as you will.
