Digital Switch on Analog towers.
The other night I went to my local terminal A, and I had a startling encounter with a tower worker. CrazyThankfully I had set my rig down and he didn't see it, but when we noticed each other we were immediately startled. He yelled at me and asked what I was doing inside the compound, I replied with, "I live down the road, and are you guys hiring?" He then went on and on about how great the job was, and I listened with a front of interest, but all I really wanted to do was get the hell out of there.

MESSAGE: Be extra aware in and around the compound, if the worker hadn't of been there and I did resume with my jump, I probably would have died... For there was some sort of attachment (similar to a cherry picker man box) that was suspended between the wires in the 120 degree area by wires. It was about 300 feet up, and would have been in my opening zone. I noticed it this morning, but it could have proved fatal. Unsure

PM me for details on the specific site.

I was scouting out a tower during the day. I found a crew hoisting a new antenna up the tower, trying to get done before the new year.

I asked for an elevator ride to the crow's nest, but he lacked the key. he seemed to assume I'd climb it and told me what to do.

I have seen these hoists. on my local 2000' it goes from top to about 300' from the foundation. two 3/4" cable deadman acnhors, I assume the the cable is continuous (as in there is a pulley at the top). it cuts on section of the tower in half. the cables are all but invisible.

I am supposed to return "in the morning" to speak with the crew supervisor. Hahaha, that'll happen.

Hows Colombia?
