PHOENIX -- A man fell 250 feet to his death on Sunday after his parachute failed to open, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said.
The victim's name has not yet been released.
The parachutist was jumping from a mountain base near Suguaro Lake at about 2 p.m., said MCSO's Doug Matteson.
Deputies said they are trying to determine why his parachute malfunctioned.
