You may already know this but if not (and for anyone else thinking of going there) PLEASE get a camping permit before going to Little CO! They are seeing increased traffic from BASE jumpers and the local landowners are beginning to get aggravated. (Especially if they find you there without a permit) It's only $5/day per person. That's nothing! Be respectful please, we are the guests.
Permits can be obtained here:
Cameron Visitor Center
P.O. Box 459
Cameron, AZ 86020
tel : 928.679.2303
fax:928.679.2017
email: lcr@navajonationparks.org

Probably best to say your only hiking tooWink

Re: [cloudtramp] az/SPAIN/GERMANY
I believe you should purchase 2 permits. 1 for camping and another for hiking. 2 different activites each needing a permit.

Also please respect "leave no trace."

PS...

HIGHLY reccomended that you do not go there without someone that has been there before. This is in refference to the way out.

Re: [cloudtramp] az/SPAIN/GERMANY
ya man, you're absolutely right, luckily I have been buying the permits since I started going out there, and def plan on to keep doing it, but ya, I think its def important to do it the right way.

I'm gonna try to put that information in the sticky for site info.

Your right, forgot about that. You need a backcountry hiking permit as well. another $5/day.

The person to talk to for permits when you call is Helen Webster.

YES!!! Last time I was there I picked up a six pack of empty Bud light bottles thrown all over right next to an exit point!!! hmmm... I suspect that it wasn't the Navaho hanging out at the exit point drinking shitty beers. Come on people!

Re: [cloudtramp] az/SPAIN/GERMANY
...there was also a gallon jug full of piss near one of the exit points...thanks to Dan for pointing that out to me AFTER I picked it up
