Yea first post, I know. Just wondering if anyone in Northern Cali needs an extra groundperson for jumps. This isnt a post on "I want to BASE jump" that sh** is annoying to me also. I am on page 50 out of 300 on the post pages too. So Im reading up. I do want to BASE jump eventually but I start my AFF jumps next month at the Parachute center in Lodi. I want to learn more about the sport from observation until I am ready to make that first jump. Anwhere near San Joaquin County and Stanislaus County to Alameda County Bay Area. Just give me a location. Any crews in the San Joaquin area?

I am also EMT-B certified, current National Refgistry Card. Good with a camera also, haha. So hit me up with a PM anytime.

just my .02- get the skydiving expereince (have fun making tons of jumps), make friends at the DZ (beer helps). then if BASE finds you, you'll have a better chance of groundcrewing for people who know and trust you.-- cheers

No doubt brotha. Thanks for the tip. I am trying to network as much as I can but it will prob be easier for me when I get to the dropzone. I am planning on jumping my a** off, haha. As long as I have some BASE jumpers that jump there hopefully Ill be able to chill a meet some. I can understand the trust thing for sure, and not letting a spot blow up too.

personally, i think what he's attempting to do is in the right direction. perhaps slightly premature, but if he's already here...

while skydiving can set you up with the necessary skills if motivated properly... i mostly separate the DZs from my BASE activities. all but 1 or 2 of my BASE friends i met through actual BASE jumping or word of mouth from other BASE jumpers, not at a DZ. ironically, i also met up with quite a few jumpers through this site, in a very similar manner to the OP, which i find this site the most useful for... networking.

if "diehard" was in my local area, i would surely give him a chance. not saying anyone gets a free ride just for making a post showing interest, but if i had the time, why not feel him out and see what he has to offer?

sure, i like beer too... but beer won't get me out of an arrest or to the E.R. in a jam, solid trustworthy companions will.

Thanks for the kind words blitzkrieg. I admit I am a little bit early for sure but figured I would give it a go ahead. Networking is a must brotha. There is some odd attraction to skydiving and BASE that I can not explain. I was hooked on my first tandem and super stoked on my future AFF, BASE looks like an amazing way to freefall. Maybe Ill be able to travel around by the end of summer and involved enough in BASE to make a couple jumps out your direction. Time will tell, Im looking forward to the future.

Just start your stuff at lodi, theres plenty of base jumpers around, but not a ton of them post on here. Youll be able to find them.

I know bro, lol. I didn't know how to change privacy to make it private so I lowered my age to under 16. Now its permanent. I'm thinking about deleting it but I cant let it go, hahaha. Maybe I can call Tom. I graduated highschool in 06, pinky promise, haha.
