Re: [Calvin19] LAWSUIT
Not yet, and am in no rush to.....

Though there have been a few times when I would have gotten a lot of satisfaction out of a lawsuit (and I would have won), the time I'd have to invest in a succesful lawsuit is worth more than the compensation I'd receive.

If it's a dispute with a business, usually a well-written report for a local newspaper will punish the business 10 times more than any legal ruling would, and will take far less time.

Plus I enjoy earning money through constructive effort more.

Though I know of one jumper who is preparing to sue the building guard who manhandled him after a jump. Wink

Re: [inzite] LAWSUIT
i once talked to a lawyer about medical malpractice that resulted in permanent nerve damage. it was related to an injury i got a bridge day. the damn lawyer was more interested in sueing bridge day organizers, state of west virginia, etc. than in getting my medical bills dropped and some small compensation for the terrible suffering i had to encounter.

Re: [460] LAWSUIT
I was a riding a motorcycle and
some 23 year old kid driving a
Baptist church van hit me...

Luckily I was not forced to sue God
because her insurance company
settled during mediation.

FYI - used the settlement to pay
off my student loans and buy my
first new rig Cool

Re: [Calvin19] LAWSUIT
Awhile back I sued a former employer for comissions I had earned and they were refusing to give me. It was difficult emotionally, and a big part of me wanted to just walk away and leave the pressure behind. But, I decided to stick it out, and in the long run, it was worth it. I got my money, was vindicated by the judgement, and I hope they learned to stop trying to cheat employees.

Has there ever been a lawsuit involving BASE jumping specifically or a BASE equipment manufacturer? wrongful death? etc...

Re: [Calvin19] LAWSUIT
I had to sue the federal government (FBI/DHS/USCIS etc) a couple of years ago. Worked like a charm Smile

I'm sure there were some. I can remember one: relatives of an american girl who went in at ITW suing her friends who were on the load. No idea what came of it.

Probably. If you want to research, it was #57 Erin Aimee Engle - Jul 22, 2001. I have no other info.
