Sweet Ass Freestanders

My first bandit jump was from a
300 foot freestander thanks to 2
friendly, generous and cool dudes.

Ever since I have really preferred
antennas without wires, I have so
far only jumped 2 with wires and
even though Lonnie & other very
helpful guys have provided input
I still prefer the easier climbs &
not worrying about pesky wires.

Hence my question, regarding the
old red AT&T repeater towers that
are square, what sizes have YOU
seen or jumped?

I have hucked and/or climbed 4
that are between 225' and 300'
and found another as tall as 422'.

just start doing meth; it allowed me to jump so many more A's in even less time. Plus the climbs are shorter and the jumps seem taller! You taught me that one Elliot! Now 140'ers take all day to freefall...

I have a 340' freestander less than ten minutes from my house. Jumped it last night. Nice little jump but the wind has to be out of the East in some capacity.

oh shit... i forgot... there's a 1000 footer (yes freestander) where i'm from, always wanted to give it a go... but i don't think the angle is right for jumping...

track would never get you safely
far enough from the object for
deployment?

my ground crew for the 900 footer were a bunch of middle easterners. I told them that if anyone hassled them to "wave there arms around wildly speaking arabic angrily." Gosh, that's a terrible idea these days!

This thread reminds me of some intersting Freestanders I saw near (edited) areas.... possibly NSA territory...

anywho, all freestanders up to this point that I had seen, had a slight angle to them. (they got smaller compared to the base as you went higher)

That's where these differed, these freestanders went straight up, basically a rectangular cube. One was 250 to 300ft. The other was confirmed 350ft.

there is a 410' within ten min of home, havn't hit it yet, but I hope to soon. I'd like to ask the builders how they sleep at night after building a 410' freestanding A with no platform and a pegged climb. Crazy

I say just get small balls and jump some more guided Antennas. They are still way safer then any building or lower cliff you will ever jump.

and the visual effects of the wires flying pass you is awesome.

i been doing rollovers and tards from a local 190 footer it works well but yes there is alot of shit to get snagged on..... buddy of mine just the other day got the canopy tangled on some stuff wile trying to hang it haha needless to say conditions need to be right.
