2007 Eiger photo
I'm looking for the name of the kiwi jumper who took this photo. It's going to be used in a magazine and I can't remember for the life of me his name. I want to make sure he gets the photo credit.

Thanks

How nice of you to license an image to a magazine without the photographers permission. You should make sure he gets the check too!

really?
how can you tell from the limited comments here?

what if the OP handed his camera to the kiwi?
what if the kiwi sent him a copy and told him he could do what he wanted (like the BD folks)?

I have no idea what the facts are, so I won't express an opinion. if he finds the kiwi, I'm sure the two of them can sort it out.

Was it Craig? Or possibly Neil?

sorry to have locked your thread. it was getting out of hand. hopefully someone will be able to help you. it looks like it must be via PM.

I locked this thread and removed several posts because of the rants they contained. I asked that they act more civil, and warned them that I would eliminate their rants. they chose not to restrain themselves.

when Sangiro and I spoke about this job, he insisted on decorum, as if you were in his living room. that is reflected in his rules. the posts contained valid concerns expressed incredibly poorly. (one poster even admitted to being drunk.)

the posts expressed deep concern about people violating a professional photographer's copyrights. camera folks have always invested time and effort into their trade. they deserve to be credited and compensated.

however, no one seemed to be able to speak to this case in particular. no one knew what permissions had been granted. the rants helped no one.

imagine a group heading out on a long hike and they think they might want some photos... one asks, "who should we get to shoot some pics?" the other one replies, "how about that pain in the ass, whiny guy? he'd be a hoot to have along!"
