container size ?
I brought this reaktor 4 container for cheap with 20 jumps on it. it was made for a flik 293 canopy. I was told it could fit one size down also. I am a 190 pound guy and from what i have been reading should perhaps jump a larger first canopy. my question is would a 308 or 322 fit in this container? thanks guys.

Why a 308? You'd be loading that a bit light don't you think?

Re: [thecount] container size ?
i was told that i should add 100 to my exit weight which will be 190 + gear. or u reakon a 293 will be cool.

If you are 190, you should be a bit less than 220-Exit Weight and that would yield (220/293)=.75 WL which is just about right.

Bigger is always better in BASE,,,,,,to a certain point.
At my FATTEST, 220 lbs plus gear and I used an ACE 280. That was a good all around set up.

I'm not trying to tell you what to do, just letting you know what worked well for my fat ass!!

Yes. Weigh the rig, clothes, all of them including the jacket, boots, helmet, armor, cell phone, trident, quarters, dime and 3 pennies, Wallet, Chapstick, Keys, condom, pen, clamps? You left the clamps in the stash bag? hahaha... the stash bag, toque (that's beanie or ski cap to those who don't understand canadian), whatever you use as a wind drift indicator, and whatever else you have with you.

30 pounds is not a stretch.

This sounds like a bad rule of thumb.
120/(120+100) = .55
150/(150+100) = .6
200/(200+100) = .66

Seems like it would only yield a good loading if you weighed like 250+.
Just saying Unsure

I've jumped my Fox 245 and Dagger 244 with exit weights between 165 and 210 pounds and found them more pleasant to sink in at the lower wingloading (.67) without much difference otherwise.

Of the potato bridge it just doesn't matter. Into a smaller landing area starting with obstacles and ending with trees it's nice to have the lower wingloading.

Re: [mrbiceps] container size ?
Add 100 to your naked weight in pounds (290 for you). This is you idea mid-range canopy.

Add 20 for hard landing areas (which you'll probably want being that you want to jump in Australia).

Subtract 20 for easier landing areas.

You need to learn to research.

The best person to answer your question regarding what canopy will fit would be the manufacturer (used to be BR).
