Any active base jumpers in Kenya? I'll be there at the end of the month, hoping to get some jumps in. Has anyone jumped there? I used to live there as a kid, and seem to remember some potentially sweet options. Let me know.

There is Base in Kenya. For the past couple of years there is only me but my Base buddy Mark returns in May.

We have a really nice 420ft cliff at Naivasha in Hells Gate national park (ask Anniken) but locally not a great deal more than that other than a 360ft AM tower which blew a hole in my leg a while back. I've since developed all the kit needed to get back on it and have actually been back on it but I need some help to go further.

Right now I'm in the planning stage of a trip up North into Bandit country. There are two cliffs, one which has a 1100ft slightly positive face and the other which is massive and is shaped like ITW. I actually departed on this trip last year after kitting up with extra spare wheels, extra fuel, jerry cans full of water, seven days of food, sat phone, GPS, medical kit, flying doctor, car spares, a ground crew, northern territories guide and every item imaginable. We got as far as a roundabout in Westlands (not even outside of Nairobi) when a raving, psychopathic, crazed, lunatic matatu (small bus) driver ploughed into us at top speed, spun us around and smashed my car to bits. He then legged it which is just as well as I would have been in jail for murder by now.

Anyway, I'm really excited to hear that there will be another jumper in Kenya and look forward to meeting you.

sounds great! If you want to PM me your contact information, i'll get in touch with you when I arrive.... I had a feeling hells gate would have some exit points... Also, what's the skydiving scene like around there? is it worth lugging the two parachute system around too, or not really? Thanks!

wow man, sounds like you had a pretty substantial adventure. i have a friend from South Africa and it sounds like fun (not for kids) trekking around in Africa.
