Heys guys, I have a dell computer with Pinnacle Studio Ultimate and I am having problems capturing video. Does anyone else have this and how are you capturing your video? Everytime I try to capture it reads unable to find device. Has anyone else had this problem? Any solutions?

the most common problem is people try to use USB to capture.

You need to use Firewire.

You MUST use a Firewire to
transfer video from a video
camera to a computer.

seen or used is: IEEE 1394

1. use a firewire and make sure your camera hase a firewire.
2. make sure that you,re on the CAPTURE tab->select the SETUP tab at the top of the screen->CAPTURE SOURCE-> and then when it is highlighted under video drag that down and make sure it is on the right device.
3. make sure that your camera is ON and in the right mode

i have been using pinnacle since version 7...

Ran into this problem once... make sure your drivers are up to date.

I have tried to bye an express card for fire wire and it didn't work either, but maybe the set up was wrong.

just use windows movie maker to capture through your firewire... it's all the same. then import and edit with whatever.

you need firewire driver, just go to dell web site and do search for you computer and download the newer driver for it.
