Antenna workers
So, there I was last night checking out a freestander in the middle of bum fuck egypt expecting it to just be me and the antenna out there, when it turns out theres someone there working in the middle of the night. After he/she apparently called the cops and I used my hi-tech ninja skills of running through the woods and nearly falling down mountain sides I managed to get away. All the other antennas I've checked out/jumped never had someone working there at 2 in the morning. Just wondering how common this is for everyone else, and if you think they work 7 nights a week (maybe weekends off? holidays?) Just wondering what everyone else thinks. Its a 340 ft freestander btw, in case that matters.

there's a local A that's base is on the other side of the building from where you walk up on the access road. i've heard of people finding workers' cars parked where you couldn't have seen them till you come around the building's corner and having to leave sneakily.

antenna workers are probably on call 24-7 like any other utility worker.

glad you got away- stay safe

Chances are pretty good that it's just a one-time thing, like adding/upgrading equipment on the tower, or checking on the cause of some signal loss or something.

I can't think of any situation where there would be a full-time tower monkey assigned to climb a particular tower every night to do some work... that would just be wierd Smile
