Randy Harrison Update
Randy is out of inpatient therapy and is now at home. He still has out patient therapy several hours a week since he is allowed to put only half of his weight on his left heel and still needs some cognitive therapy for his speach and brain. He is doing much better than I could have hoped, but I remember when he was still in a coma at the hospital and an old friend and jump mate of ours from Houston, Phil Smith called and told me if anyone he ever knew could pull out of this, Randy Harrison could. I made sure Smitty called Randy a few weeks later after he was awake and healing. Thanks to a lot of you who have asked about Randy and kept him in your thoughts.
Remember folks, it's when we most take a jump for granted, like a simple skydive, that shit can happen when we least expect it. I know how easy it is to say the words, "Pay attention to detail" Carl Boenish said it but even he forgot, and sometimes when I forget, it bites me in the butt. Take care out there and if anyone wishes to write or send a card, Randy's address at home is 1713 S Avenue, South Amana, Iowa 52334. He and his wife Shirley have an e-mail at hshirley53@iowatelecom.net.
Again, thanks for the thoughts and remember to drive fast, take chances, (in other words, be careful out there BASE brothers and sisters).
