No. I'm a volunteer, just like all the moderators here, at DZ.com and at RC.com.

I've seen plenty of volunteer labor at my home dropzone, at BD, etc.

I'm also not sure what would happen to moderation if we became employees. I've yet to get any real direction from our new boss. they let us be. I've never seen a man writing paychecks do the same.

well stated... But if I had the time... I might be a mod for some pay...

If you were going to pay mods, you'd be best off to pick people who know nothing about BASE jumping or BASE jumpers, and have no interest in our petty politics and personality conflicts. They'd be totally neutral and impartial. Of course, to get someone like that to moderate, you'd have to pay them.
